I have been following the news, and so far it looks like the heavy weights Wikipedia, Reddit and Google have joined the online protest. Just have to wait and see how it turns out…

Yup. I was actually relieved to see that Google’s “blackout” was to cover up their logo with a black strip, rather than shut down. Running web businesses without google isn’t nearly as fun. 🙂

I hope that this problem will be solved in the nearest time, and the government won’t approve this law!

Hello Alison, I got to saw lots of ways of protest but the most impressive way which I liked was the Google’s. Everybody knows if the Google would have turned off it’s search engine everyone would have faced lots of serious problems. Doing the Protest without making anyone trapped in problematic situation is much like Angel way of Protest!! By the way I signed the petition to protest through Google’s Link!!

I rely on Google a lot and while still a student I heavily rely on Wikipedia for much of my wayward research. I think the presidential candidates from the debate last night taught me that the government gets in the way a lot. They must stop the certain 2% of the nation that do conflict with the law of piracy, and not punish the rest of the nation.

Government should realize that if all the internet high ups like Google and Wikipedia are against a law then there is something which they need to reconsider. Hope something good will come out soon.

Glad to read this article. Probably billions of people against the PIPA and SOPA which was proposed by politician, and I agree with you government should be out for that matter. Most of us even politicians depend on the web and internet is part of out lives. I think they should review the proposal thoroughly before imposing it. I can’t imagine without google, wikipedia – which one of my resources when I study! facebook, can’t live without social media. I just hoping the internet world will not doom.

Very nice video indeed. It makes other web users understand more how would the Internet would like if PIPA will be imposed. Many will be affected if this bill will be approved. And it is nice to know that they stop pushing the bill.

I hope the government won’t approve this law. It would be really frustrating if it impacts on websites of those people who don’t conflict with the law of piracy and don’t break the law

  • Sandy February 2, 2012, 1:50 pm

I personally hope that this law don’t get approved by the government

  • Jessica February 3, 2012, 10:22 pm

Nice video! I am also against the “SOPA” bill which was recently proposed by the US Congress. Thanks for the share! This will surely help us a lot to get more aware of the possible effects of SOPA if this bill will be imposed.

Internet has already contributed a lot of advantages to people’s way of living. It will surely bring a great effect to many things if this bill will be approved. Hope the government will come up with the right decision considering the welfare of the most.

Internet has changed many lives. it has been a vital form of communication. It has been a business for most. SOPA and PIPA must be well think about. It will be something that will limit our access to potential development.

  • Mae March 7, 2012, 12:33 am

The law is supposed to benefit the majority. Through this video we can see that only good law should be imposed. PIPA and SOPA would just hinder economic progress.

Thank God that Here in Nepal, Government is not much strong.

Who are the creeps that thought up this bill, and what are they up to now?
Trying to spoil everyones fun in some other way probably.

  • Jennica March 13, 2012, 4:17 am

Very persuasive video. The video should also be watched by senators who wanted the PIPA and SOPA be implemented. Internet has been one of the most viable access to our everyday living. It has been a part of anybody’s life. The government must be well aware that internet can help a lot in terms of communication and in socialization.

  • Jaimes March 24, 2012, 5:43 am

We can actually look at in two ways but of course internet is truly helpful in human lives and it is the one making communication in its fast phase, although according to the government it is a way of promoting security and of course strict implementation of copyright rules but in a democratic country what still rules is the voice of majority.

I myself, also disagree about this bills. Since, many of the business are making their promotion through their websites if PIPA and SOPA will imposed they will find hard to promote their business to the public. Hopefully, the House and the Senate will make the right decision for this.
