You’re back! I’ve missed the blogging tips and updates. Glad to see you’re back in the saddle.

  • MartinL June 14, 2011, 1:39 pm

I have purchased a couple of the other PB books (31 Days and PB Secrets) that you have recommended and can verify that they are well worth the money. I’ve made back what I paid many times over.

There is so much shit out there in the blogging world with people just trying to make money on gullible people that I really appreciate quality materials. And I REALLY appreciate that you only recommend stuff that’s valuable. (I bought the Ultimate Guide you recommended, too. Great.)

Anyway, you can bet I’m heading over to get this. Even though I already have a blog, I want to know how to target it more to promote my business to customers. Looks like this is the thing.

Ronco, thanks for the kind words and for being a loyal reader! My oldest daughter’s wedding — along with the trip to Virginia for an open house — have been all consuming. Completing projects for my clients took all my free time, leaving nothing for blogging. Now that things are back to “normal,” I have lots of blog posts in the works. Keep watching my blogs for updates. 🙂

  • Alison Moore Smith June 14, 2011, 1:51 pm

MartinL, thank you for commenting. I can’t agree more on the plethora of low quality, gimmicky garbage out there. It’s hard to wade through. But after much experience, I trust Darren and Kristi. They have alway delivered on their promises and give you more than you paid for in quality.

  • david June 14, 2011, 3:21 pm

They must be offering a commission because this book is on just about every blog. It is getting old.

  • SueBee June 14, 2011, 3:25 pm

Looks great. I’ll check into it. I’ve also liked the other books from Problogger.

  • Alison Moore Smith June 14, 2011, 4:20 pm

The ProBlogger books are affiliate products, so there is a commission. More to the point, it launched today and Darren gave his affiliates a bit of a jump in promoting.

Darren Rowse is literally the blogging genius who has taught thousands of people on how to blog. I personally learned a lot from his book 31 days to build a better blog. I’m happy that he released a new one. Thanks for sharing

    Hi Alison,

I agree with Marazm on this one. Too much crap online everywhere you look. I say this is the best resource for bloggers to use, a blogger that shares their experience! How can you beat that?

Nice… the book seems very Wordpress-centric (as opposed to Blogger or other competing services). This is a good thing; I always sort of favored Wordpress for whatever reason, but only recently started seriously using it (normally I just built everything from scratch with good ole’ Dreamweaver and Notepad).

  • Kate June 24, 2011, 2:47 am

    Hi Alison,

Thanks for sharing it with us. Really very nice stuff.
    Thumbs up for you 🙂

  • Jill June 24, 2011, 10:07 am

This will be a great start to know the basics and some advance blogging stuff for aspiring bloggers. How much? I know my cousin will want anything but a book but I will get one from him on his birthday. He needs this, more than any stuff 🙂

  • Alison Moore Smith June 25, 2011, 1:03 pm

I started out hand coding and then moved to GoLive and later to DreamWeaver. Tried out Joomla (yack!) and then moved to WordPress for good.

WordPress is the best blogging software, hands down. And has even won awards as best general CMS. I have converted almost all my sites to WordPress — whether they are blogs or not — and I use it exclusively with my clients.

  • Alison Moore Smith June 25, 2011, 1:05 pm

31 DBBB is definitely a solid resource for bloggers. The guy knows what he’s doing and, more to the point, he knows from experience, not just from blogging about blogging and making people believe he was an expert. He really is one.

  • Mario June 29, 2011, 7:24 pm

Wow! a book about blogging. I haven’t see actually a book on tips and advices for blogging. It would be a nice addition to my “internet efforts” library.

    Thanks.

  • Zaman July 4, 2011, 5:50 am

Surely the content, more particularly the book for blogging is just too awesome. Thanks Alison Ma’am. Though just wondering a bit sometimes, as it is blessed with Word press plug ins and ideas, what if some users think to add ad-sense to word press? Think it is not possible, some one will clear me at this point? Thanks.

I have not tried the software yet but if anyone is going to start blogging, especially for money, I recommend they don’t just jump into it without some help; trust me I have been blogging and building sites for years, I learned the hard way and could have skipped ahead saving a few of those years right off the top if I had some good advise and tools.

  • Lalit July 12, 2011, 11:29 am

Blogging has become passion for millions of people now and each one still needs plenty of tips to enhance their skill in making blogging for their profitable business and well written book, which cover all the aspects of blogging. Thanks for sharing it.

  • standee July 20, 2011, 6:14 am

Blogging for our business is one effective strategy for a successful business. Also it can make an ideal way for index Google search.

  • George Anderson July 27, 2011, 5:09 pm

We are fairly new at blogging and I could see this book being a great resource. I think half the battle with blogging is taking the initial steps and starting it. The other half is writing consistent and unique content. I’m definitely going to pick this up for some more tips!

Good post, blogging and SEO can take a long time to understand and I hate the link building services that advertise their efforts to take advantage of good people just trying to get better rankings. A natural process is always better and although it might take some extra effort you will see the benefits in the long run.

  • Ben Kelsson October 9, 2011, 6:51 am

Yeah, blogging for a living…sounds like a good idea! But I guess it is just the same like with all other ideas: many out there are trying, only few with success! That of course does not mean one should quit after few unsuccessful attempts…
    Nice article though!

I would make zero decisions on the blog (other than deciding to have one for reasons above) before I created and understood a list of its objectives. These objectives will shape the entire scope of the blog and your Internet marketing in general. They will help set guidelines and determine deliverables.
